At Dunn Bros Auctions, we want to give you the best chance of catching the item you're after. While we can offer a general guide to the pace of the sale, it's worth noting that there's no exact science to predicting the speed of an auction. Things can move quicker or slower depending on interest, internet bidders, and other variables — so we always recommend tuning in early if you're waiting on a particular lot.
We usually start the day with smaller, lower-value items like garage equipment and tools – the first 100 or so lots. These move along quickly, averaging around 30 seconds per item.
After that, we move into the larger, higher-value lots – such as vehicles, machinery, and plant equipment. These can take up to 2 minutes each, especially if there’s strong bidding interest.
Lots 1–100: Fast-paced – around 30 seconds per lot
Lots 101 onward: Slower – roughly 1 to 2 minutes per lot
⏰ No guarantees on pace – so it’s best to err on the side of caution and be ready a little earlier than you think!
