The online-reserved plant and agricultural machinery auction held its first sale on 30th June 2022 with just under 300 lots. Within just 9months, with its fifth consecutive sale hosted in March 2023, they have seen buyer numbers quadruple and lot numbers increase three-fold.
The Dunn brothers are prominent names in the wood waste industry and have been avid traders of plant and ag machinery for many years prior to the auctions conception. On Friday 28th April, the Dunn brothers signed a long-term lease, expanding the site by an additional eight acres. The new site boasts new offices, concrete loading ramps and a two-acre indoor workshop space equipped with heavy-duty gantry cranes, which will be used for washing, paint spraying and mechanical services etc – all services can be quoted on a bespoke basis.
With its newly acquired capacity, Dunn Bros is planning to take its auction Live, with onsite bidding expected to be accommodated by July 2023.
Regarding the expansion, Auction Manager, Janice Gill, had this to say: “Having been with the company since its first auction in June 2022, it is incredible to see how far our small passionate team has come in such a short space of time and it’s exciting to imagine where we are heading in the future. Whilst the infrastructure is put in place for the onsite bidding, Dunn Bros SW Ltd will be hosting their next auction online. Contrary to previous online-timed auctions, this auction will be run by a live auctioneer – just another steppingstone in the path to fully fledged live auctions!
